It's just starting to get cold outside. What better place to warm up in the winter than a fondue restaurant?
They have all different types, from cheddar and beer to four-cheese fromage to broth fondues...but who cares, right? You want to hear about the chocolate.
Yes, they have amazing dessert fondues, such as dark chocolate with crme de coco sprinkled with coconut flakes; caramel with almonds and milk chocolate; chocolate peanut butter; melted marshmallow topped with chocolate and graham crackers; sweet cream cheese topped with milk or dark chocolate. It's TOO GOOD FOR WORDS.
The Magic Pot is BYO, so make sure you grab a bottle or two before you head over.

Before trying this place, I'd only tried homemade cheese fondue which I wasn't very fond of, so I was a little unsure what to expect. The first time we went, our party of four split 2 of the Magic pot feasts, which includes any cheese fondue, any cooking style for the entrée, plus 4 items to "cook" and a dessert fondue. Between the two feasts, we chose everything you could get - chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, salmon, scallops and spinach ravioli. My wife and I got the Asian cooking style and our friends got the beef broth. Then for dessert we each get a chocolate fondue and we got the fluffernutter (chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallows and grahams) and they got dark chocolate with Oreos.
Well everything was very fantastic and we all had a great time. The meal took us about 2 hours because you can't really eat the entrée very fast. We downed about 3 bottles of wine during the meal also, and since the place is BYOB, we didn't break the bank. At $80 per couple, we got a ton of food and a great meal.
I'm not a fan of Gruyere cheese so we got the queso cheese dip instead, which had peppers, onions and cilantro with monterrey jack cheese - Fantastic. The only complaint is you only get bread and apples to dip - the apples are okay, and the bread is good, but why not give some broccoli, asparagus or blanched potatoes?
The highlight was the fluffernutter chocolate fondue - out of this world! The worst part though was that we didn't get enough dipping things for the dessert so we all were left trying to scoop the rest of the chocolate out with our fondue forks, which is tough to do (and slightly embarrassing!).
The service was good, and the atmosphere is nothing fancy - the place could use a few more decorations. Sign up for their email promotions because they email you coupons pretty often. Since our first visit we've been back for cheese and chocolate for $25 (with the coupon). Same problem though - not enough stuff to dip in the chocolate fondue.

In one word: SEXY.
In two: DELICIOUS & SEXY
In three: PRICEY, MOUTHWATERING...& SEXY
If you're on a date, ask to sit in the back (the front area is just regular seating (it's rather tight though) but the fondue is still SOOO GOOD)
If you sit in the backroom, there's lush red curtains, huge abstract paintings that scream energy & sensuality
and candle lights...b/c everyone looks hot in candle light.
Its romantic, It's quaint, and though the service isn't up to par (nice, but slow) the ambiance is so key here that were it just a regular designed food joint, I might not have given it 4 stars. maybe 3.5
Yeah I know. Its' In nj. but who cares? be adventurous. smell the "pit".
you'll eat here and forget your in (what is it? connecticut's parking lot?). and the next time people goof on nj you can say "SsHH! they have this sexy fondue joint that will make you swoon."
Magic pot is also near the water so you can take a nice walk afterward.
Yummmm!

This place is very cute and romantic... an excellent date spot.
The set up of the place is very cute w/ little electric stoves at your table which are the heat source of the fonduliciousness as opposed to little flame canisters.
My boyfriend and I came for dessert. We ordered the 'fluffernutter' which consists of melting marshmallows, chocolate, peanut butter, and graham crackers together to form this ooey, gooey, wonderful palatal sensation! Didn't think graham crackers could melt? I didn't either... but somehow they did. That's the "magic" of Magic Pot.
